Town of Stockton Municipal Building, Mtg. 25

Attendees:  Sue Anderson, Donna Literski.

1. Meeting Minutes.  Minutes of the July meeting were approved as written.

2. Lecture/Film Series 2010/2011.  This winter’s sustainably-themed lecture/film series will be shortened to three months; January, February and March 2011.  The schedule to date includes:

• January 13th:  A lecture titled “Sustainability and Setting Priorities – Incompatible Approaches to Life (eleven necessary conditions for sustainability) will be given by Lowell Klessig, Emeritus Professor of Human Dimensions of Natural Resources Management, UW-Stevens Point.  A portion of this research was published in the Journal of Human Values.
• February 10th: The film, “Dirt” will be shown.  It’s the story of humans trying to reconnect to dirt, the living skin of the earth.
• March 10th:  TBD

Donna will contact MREA to reconfirm room reservations.

3. Find It In Stockton Directory.  The group would like to continue publication of the directory both on paper and on the web site. It is timely to verify that all the information is accurate and up to date.  To accomplish, Sue and Donna will each contact half of the businesses listed and verify.  Additionally we will survey folks to see if they find value in keeping up the directory on paper and on the website.  Donna will contact Jerry Piesek to see if he would again print directories for us.  Donna to contact Bill Rentfrow to see if we have a recent traffic report on our web site hits.

4. Adopt a Road Project.  At this time we were not up-to-date on the details of how the program will work.  As we learn more we will discuss road pick-up by the Sustainable Stockton Group.  We may want to bring up at the Lecture/Films series also.

5. Reuse/Recycle Project.  We would like to select a Reuse/Recycle Project for the next year.  Choose to Reuse may not work for our group, but perhaps some other project will.  We will focus our November meeting on project ideas and selection.  If anyone has ideas they would like the group to consider, please attend the November meeting or let Sue or Donna know your suggestions.

6.  Year 2011 Tour Schedule.  A portion of November’s meeting will also be dedicated to suggestions/selections for 2011 tours.  So please attend the meeting or contact Sue or Donna with any suggestions you’d like considered.

7. Next meeting:  November 4, 2010, 7 p.m., Stockton Municipal Building.
