Next Gathering.  Please join us for a group pot-luck at Mary Maller's house - 6:00 p.m., Thursday, March 4th.  Mary's address is 7630 Rolling Hills Road.  If coming from Highway 10, turn north on County Road K, then east on Rolling Hills Road (can only turn east).  Mary's house is approximately 1 mile east.


Winter Film Series.  You're invited to the last FREE movie in our green-themed, winter films series: Mad City Chickens.  This documentary will be shown on Thursday, March 11, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at the MREA, 7558 Deer Road in Custer.  The film, Mad City Chickens, shares humorous and serious stories from individuals who have chosen to raise poultry in their "own back yard."  Find out about  how several Madison folks began and continue to raise poultry and eggs for their families.  It's an enjoyable documentary.  Popcorn will be served, bring your own beverage.

March 20 - Energy Efficient Consruction, 9 am - 5 pm

This workshop will cover the basics of energy efficient and environmentally-friendly construction, including site analysis, passive solar design strategies, super-insulated frame construction techniques, sustianable building materials, renewalbe heating systems and mechanical systems.

Come to the MREA to learn about different types and styles of alternative construction and to learn about sustainable building and decision making.  The purpose of this class is for people to reconnect with the materilas that surround them and regain the knowledge about local, health, natural material use and selection and appropriate regional wall systems.
